I flew into Kansas City and was picked up by Heidi and my new Nephew Elliott Jay. Oh he is such a sweetheart! We went to Iowa on Friday and I spent Friday through Tuesday at my parents house. I even got to hang out and catch up with my good friends Megan Hartsock and Jen Kempers! It was also awesome that Sarah traveled all the way down from Minneapolis on her Harley! So good to see you!
Now this blog is mostly going to be a photo essay as I took a LOT of pictures while I was home!
Sarah holding little Elliott.
Us three swinging on the porch with Elliott.
Sarah leaving like a BAMF on her motorcycle.
My stunningly beautiful mother.
Chrissy on Toffee.
Riding down the Kemper's driveway.
Captivating isn't she?
Chris, Toffee, and Mom.
I'm riding Toffee!
Elliott being baptized by Pastor Herm.
The stones in the baptismal fountain that you could take with you in remembrance.
Nick, Heidi, Elliott and Herm after his baptism.
I just love this picture. Look how proud Mya is of her mommy! That look is full of devotion and aw. I hope my daughter views me in the same way someday!
Little Elliott praying after his baptism. I swear he put his hands like this all on his own!
Uncle Vern, Heidi, and Elliott.
Elliott smiling in Vernon's arms! What an adorable smile!
Casey holding Elliott Jay.
Uncle Vern and I with Elliott.
I love this little man so much!
Proud Parents :D Nicholas Jay Zevenbergen, Heidi Leigh Zevenbergen, and Elliot Jay Zevenbergen. What a beautiful family!
Nick's fathering skills are astounding. And look how good they look together!
Speaking of parenting skills, I am in awe of what a wonderful mother my sister Heidi is. Not surprised one bit, but definitely in awe.
A stunning family full of love and based on Christ.
I am pretty much an awesome auntie....
Mom's bestie Laura. Isn't she breathtaking?
All the kids, Heidi and I watching Elliott attempt to roll over.
The kids and dad lighting snakes.
I love snakes!
Discussing how they should pile a bunch next to each other, light one and see if it sets off the others... and it does. Awesome! Oh I'm such a kid at heart.
Laura's son Kyle asking "Mommy may I pet it?" "No honey, you don't pet babies" Awesome! Which reminds me of a quote from Megan's future Step Daughter while watching fireworks "OH NO! THE SKY IS BROOOKEN!" hahahahhaah
Elliott Jay, you are too cute...
Elliott making a face to mimick Daddy.
I'm glad Elliott acknowledges how awesome I am. (Casey too :) )
Iowa is SO beautiful! Rolling hills of green, beautiful summer skies, and awesome family.
Yes, I do believe Elliott looks just like me...
This man has stolen my heart!
The twins looking at Elliott with Mom.
Snaps! More 4th of July AWESOMENESS!
I don't think I need to add anything to this one. :)
This twin's name is Kyle. Man he looks like my husband when he was younger! This kid is going to grow up to be a little heart breaker!
Daddy painstakingly lighting the campfire so we can make s'mores for 30 minutes then move on to the next task.
Yummmmm, S'mores!
Sparklers! My favorite part of the 4th of July!
Mommy and Elliott watching everyone play with sparklers.
Mom and Laura playing with sparklers.
Heidi and her little man.
Chris with the sparklers. She is a beauty!
My thoughts -- "OMG this is AWESOME! Why can't we do this EVERY DAY?!??!"
AWWWWW!
And here is my bestie, Megan Hartsock. Ah it is nice to have a Kindred Spirit. Even if that Kindred Spirit doesn't read Harry Potter, Eragon, or Twilight... :)
At the fireworks! WOOOT!
Me 'n my daddy!
Me 'n my Mommy! Love you padres!
fireworks...
Fireworks...
FIREWORKS!!!!
ooooooo.... aaaaah! Collective ooo's and aaah's are one of my favorite things in life. This is probably why I like the 4th of July so much, and midnight showings of great novels made into movies....
Opa, PeePaw, Granpappy, ... or maybe we will just call him Grandpa. He is so good at it too!
Hopefully from now on my posts will be more of a photo journalistic approach to our lives. They take hours upon hours longer, but hopefully are more enjoyable. Love you all!
